Senior Clinical Fellow in Intensive Care

Clinical Fellowships at Harefield Hospital in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care (Trust Grade SpR equivalent)

This recruitment campaign is to recruit to an immediate post; although we will have several posts available at a later stage should the right candidates be available. This post should be ideally suited to those wishing to pursue a career in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia &/or Critical Care. Consideration will however also be given to all suitable candidates including those already in possession of their CCT or wish to take an OOPE. Appropriately qualified overseas applicants would be welcome. Posts are for 6 months in the first instance, extendable by mutual consent up to a maximum period of 23 months.

The successful candidates will participate in the provision of all aspects of adult cardiothoracic anaesthesia and/or critical care. Harefield Hospital has an 18-bedded Level 3 ICU and a 5 bedded Level 3 cardiac recovery unit. There is an established consultant delivered teaching programme and excellent research and audit opportunities. The candidate will acquire expertise in transoesophageal echocardiography. The case mix includes organ support for advanced heart and lung failure including ventricular assist devices, ECMO and transplantation. These posts are currently based upon a EWTD compliant rota.
 

Applicants that do not have GMC registration would be required to sit an IELTS in line with GMC requirements. However, should you be successful at interview, the trust will pay for your first attempt for sitting the IELTS exam.
